The Platform of Organizers of Sports Events of the Balearic Islands reinforces, supports and shares the system proposed by the Government of the Balearic Islands to guarantee safety in major sporting events.
As of August 14, will require conditions to access major sporting events of between 500 and 1,000 people indoors and between 2,500 and 5,000 outdoors. As regards the participants of major sporting events, and according to the Government's forecasts, as of September it must be documented that they have received the complete vaccination schedule, or that they have passed COVID 19, within the previous 6 months, or ultimately, who have undergone a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to the visit or a rapid antigen test with the same result within 48 hours prior to the visit.
In addition, the organizers of the sports competitions will adopt a protocol that guarantees the monitoring of the hygienic measures established by the health authorities, access and exit controls, and distancing between people at the place where the competition is held . Likewise, athletes will responsibly declare that in the last fourteen days they have not had any symptoms compatible with COVID-19, that they have not obtained a result compatible with the presence of active infection in a diagnostic test for COVID-19, that they have not lived together with people who have been declared a confirmed case of COVID-19 and who have not had close contact with patients due to COVID-19.
Both the Platform of Organizers of Sports Events and the Government of the Balearic Islands are sure that these measures will mean a safe return to sport on the islands, and will also motivate the population to vaccinate. Each event will develop its own protocol that can be consulted on its official channels and which will be updated according to the evolution of the health situation.
This measure represents a further step so that, with the celebration of important sporting events With a view to the months of September and October, the tourist season may be extended and thus contribute to the economic reactivation of the islands.
The platform of organizers of sporting events includes most of the companies and clubs that organize sporting events in the Balearic Islands.
