The best cycling routes in the North Zone!

If you are going to visit Mallorca and you don't know the routes, in this post we suggest 5 cycling routes from the north of Mallorca. Take note!

If you are planning to stay in the North of Mallorca and enjoy a cycling holiday, in this post we suggest 5 different routes of varying difficulty so that you can make the most of your cycling trips during your holidays!

Route 1: Playa de Muro - Sa Calobra. 114 km - 1990 m of cumulative elevation gain. As expected, we must include the most famous climb in Mallorca: Sa Calobra. Leaving Playa de Muro, you would ascend the 'Coll de sa Batalla' until you reach the well-known MA-10 road, which crosses the Sierra de Tramuntana. You would travel along the MA-10 road until you reach the turnoff to Sa Calobra, first ascending the 'Coll des reis' and then descending to Puerto de Sa Calobra. Once down, you have to go up the same road for its very tough 9.5 km at an average gradient of 7%. You would return to the hotel descending through the 'Coll de Femenia' to Playa de Muro. Route 2: Playa de Muro - Artà. 76 km - 600 m of accumulated elevation gain. This proposal is a shorter route along fun roads with slides through several towns in Mallorca. We recommend that you stop in Artà and have a coffee in s'Almudaina, a place known by local cyclists and the good atmosphere that is experienced on the day of the 312 when the cyclists stop at that refreshment stand. Route 3: Playa de Muro - Cura. 110 km - 960 m of accumulated elevation gain. A lesser-known but no less spectacular climb is the ascent to the Cura sanctuary. Leaving Playa de Muro, the route passes through various towns in the centre of Mallorca that will not leave you indifferent. We recommend that you stop in the beautiful town of Randa, at the foot of the climb, or have a drink at any local shop in these towns. You can download the route at the following link:

Route 4: Playa de Muro - La Victoria - Mirador del Colomer. 73 km - 640 m of accumulated elevation gain. You don't have to go far from the hotel to climb incredible mountain passes (short but intense) with sea views. This route first ascends to the Ermita de La Victoria and then in Puerto de Pollença the well-known 'Coll de sa Creueta' to the Mirador del Colomer. You can download the route at the following link:

Route 4: Playa de Muro - Alaró. 85km - 550 m of accumulated elevation gain. This would be the flattest proposal, since in 85 km it barely accumulates 550 m of elevation gain including a 1.7km climb called 'Coll de Tofla'. The main objective of this route is to enjoy a training session on secondary roads in the centre of Mallorca and stop for a coffee at the 'Cycling Planet' cycling café.
